Danny Ray Matthews was born September 26, 1959 in Gainesville to Cecil and Ruby Matthews. He has been a long-time resident of Canadian. Danny married Teresa Collins on June 19, 1982 in Canadian.

He was a maintenance worker and known to be a hard worker. Danny loved fishing, camping and the Dallas Cowboys. He was loved by his family and was a great husband and uncle.

Survivors include his wife Teresa of the home; brother, Coy Matthews of Fritch; sister, June Blevens of Sanford Fritch; 10 God-children and numerous nieces and nephews. Danny was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Matthews and two sisters, Helen Bowling and Birdie Davis.
