Daphne H. Smith, age 99, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away April 26, 2019 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born December 6, 1919 in Florence County, South Carolina to the late Liston Edgar Haselden and Sarah Aileen Godwin. Daphne has been a resident of Jacksonville for 44 years and was a member of Christian Family Church.

She was a strong Christian woman who brought encouragement and help to all she knew. Her passion was family and friends and she especially loved her daughter and son-in-law. Daphne is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harry Thomas Tarlton and Hoke Smith.

Daphne is survived by her loving daughter, Melanie Tarlton (Bennett) Brown of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Bennett Brown III, Justin Hoke (Shannon) Brown, Marshall (Elizabeth) Brown; great grandchildren, Hunter, Avery, Braelyn, Olivia, Isla Oak, Stokes. A Celebration of Daphne’s Life will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at High Hill Free Will Baptist Church 1176 East Myrtle Beach Highway Scranton, South Carolina. The arrangements are under the care and direction of V. TODD FERREIRA FUNERAL SERVICES, 250 North Lowder Street, Macclenny, FL 32063.
