Darla Ruth Gibbons April 13, 1938 – March 11, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Upload Photo| View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Darla Ruth Gibbons, 80, of Elizabeth Township, went to her heavenly home on Monday, March 11, 2019. She was born April 13, 1938 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Hutchinson) Golz. She was the wife of the late Walter W. “Wally” Gibbons who passed away February 11, 2018.

She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, where she served in many positions including church secretary. Darla worked as a Confidential Secretary for Bettis Atomic Laboratories, she was also a secretary for Clemson University. She is survived by her daughters, Debra Ruth Gibbons of Pleasant Hills and Lynn Renee’ and her husband Frank Przywarty of New Castle, grandson, Nichalas Gibbons Przywarty, sister, Bernice and her husband Bill Vaughn of McKeesport, a niece, Nancy and her husband Tom Andrejko, and nephew, David Vaughn.

Friends are welcome Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Funeral service will be held at the Elizabeth Baptist Church on Friday, March 15 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elizabeth Baptist Church at 735 Bunola Road, Elizabeth, PA 15037.
