Darlene’s Obituary Darlene C. Kovacs passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019 at Kindred Hospital NJ in Rahway. She was 59 years old. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Woodbridge and Sewaren for many years before moving to Brick in 2008.

Mrs. Kovacs was a graduate of Woodbridge High School, Class of 1977. She was employed by JP Morgan Chase in Jersey City for the past 41 years, most recently as vice-president of operations management. She was predeceased by her parents, George Stanaway in 1974 and Elaine Sharrie in 2007; brother, James Stanaway, in 1990; and stepfather, Alex Sharrie, in 2006.

Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Frank Kovacs; children, Dana Calabrese and her husband, John, of Brick and Matthew Kovacs and his wife, Lisa, of Beachwood; sisters, Donna Mazza of Woodbridge and Melissa Sharrie of Edison; brother, George Stanaway, of Fords; sister in law, Melody Magera, of Woodbridge; and grandchildren, Audriana, Blake, Sophia, Savannah and Sydney. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private.
