On May 1, 2019, at the age of 88 years Dorothy Darlene (Eaton) Watkins joined her husband, Jesse Watkins, in Heaven. She resided at Timberwood Memory Care in Del City, Oklahoma. Darlene was born September 10, 1930 in Dewey County to parents Ollie Magann Eaton and Verga (Moore) Eaton.

She was the 2nd of 5 children. Darlene was a devout Christian, who loved the Lord and strived to live her life according to God’s Word. She was a faithful wife, mother, and granny to all.

Darlene was dedicated to teaching God’s Word. Sometime in the early 1950’s, Darlene began attending First Southern Baptist Church of Del City. Along with her husband, Darlene became an integral attribute to the deaf community of the Church.

She taught Sunday School to the Senior Citizens for many years. After working as an elevator starter at the Craven’s Building downtown, she focused on being a homemaker. Passionate is the word that comes to mind when describing Darlene’s drive behind being a wife, mother, and granny.

She was hard-working and gave her all to everything she did. Gardening, knitting, and crocheting are just a few of her hobbies. Most notable, she loved to cook.

Darlene always made sure you left her house with a full belly. Time was always given to those in need; preparing meals and taking them to others. She was always willing to be a help when an opportunity arose.

Ollie and Verga Eaton (parents), Jesse Watkins (husband), Pat Sumerall (sister), Eddie Eaton (brother) and Heather Watkins (granddaughter), precede her in death. Darlene is survived by her 3 sons and their spouses: Rickey and Judy, Larry and Fary, and Bobby and Judy, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
