Obituary for Darrell Gene Goins Print Darrell Gene Goins, age 78 passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 24 at Smithville Western Care Center. Darrell was born on December 10, 1940 in Minden, West Virginia, to the late Mary Elizabeth (Persinger) and Samuel Floyd Goins, the youngest of 6 children. On September 3, 1960 he married Alma Lee Carter and together they had two children.

Darrell was a loving husband, father and provider. He retired from LTV Steel after 37 years as a maintenance supervisor. Darrell loved spending time outdoors with his children and grandchildren, especially fishing, hunting and camping.

He was an active member of Victory Baptist church in Lodi, Ohio where he had a strong relationship with God. Darrell is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Alma; son Donald (Lisa) Goins; daughter Rhonda (Patrick) Wilson; two grandchildren Tyler (Danielle) Goins and Shannon Goins; his brother Curt Goins; and his dog Angel. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Aileen Cooper, Janice Canterbury, and Phyllis Bibb; and his brother Leonard Goins.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 Noon on Monday, January 28th, 2019 at Victory Baptist Church, 8343 Harris Rd. , Lodi, 44254. A funeral service will immediately follow at Noon on Monday at the Church.

Pastor Joe Williams will officiate. Burial will be on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at High Lawn Cemetery in Oak Hill, WV. To send flowers to the family of Darrell Gene Goins, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
