Darrell’s Obituary Darrell Gene Lair, longtime Agra resident, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, March 1, 2019 in Stillwater, Oklahoma surrounded by his family and close friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma. Darrell was born July 26, 1956 in Norman, Oklahoma to parents Marion “Casey” and Jennie (Dunn) Lair.

He grew up in the Avery/Agra area graduating from Agra High School with the class of 1975. After graduation he entered the oilfield where he would work various jobs from work over rigs and well pumper, to being the warehouse manager at Fechner Pump and Supply where he proudly worked for over 14 years being affectionately known as “Honorable Darrell”. On June 24, 1976 Darrell married the love of his life, Darlene Reedy at the First Baptist Church of Agra.

Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Melanie and Brent. Darrell was a loving husband and attentive father. He slept many nights “in the barn” taking the family all over the country showing dairy cattle at State and National shows.

He and Darlene could often be found attending auctions and antiquing together, they cherished time spent together. As most proud grandparents do, Darrell dearly loved his grandchildren and shared a special bond with each one. He loved going to their ball games and being genuinely involved in their lives.

Darrell was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Agra his entire life and was proud to have helped build their fellowship hall. In his honor memorial donations can be made to the church to help with their building fund. Darrell is preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene of the home; children, Melanie and husband Matt Davis of Perkins, OK, and Brent Lair of Agra, OK; grandchildren, Kendyl Lair, Matalie Davis, Braxton Lair, Ryker Davis, and Levi Lair; his mother, Jennie; brother, Ronnie and wife Lydia Lair, and sister, Shirley Watkins; also special lifelong friends, Paul and Cindy Niccum as well as many extended family, and a host of friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Wes McFarland High School Gymnasium in Agra, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Osage Cemetery in Agra.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
