Darrell May, 74, of Norris City passed away at 4:18 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Norris City, IL on May 10, 1944 the son of Roy T. and Opal (Hoskins) May. Darrell married Jennie L. Bean and she preceded him in death on December 8, 2016.

He was a retired truck driver and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Darrell was a member of the Norris City American Legion. Darrell is survived by four sons, Bobby and Melanie Jolley of Norris City, Chris Jolley of Norris City, Ronnie and Mindy Jolley of Carmi, and David and Terah Jolley of Norris City; brother, Gerald (Anna Belle) May, of Carmi; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jennie May, three brothers, Roy Jr., Bill and Frankie May; and three sisters, Barbara Murdach, Brenda Youngblood and Carolyn Walters. Funeral services for Darrell May, 74, of Norris City, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2019 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery in Norris City with full military honors by the Carmi VFW and American Legion.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. till service time on Monday at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Darrell’s memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
