A member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Clyde Delbert and Audine Blankenship Dotson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by uncles, Edwin Blankenship and J.B. Blankenship, Jr.; maternal grandfather, Bertland Blankenship; maternal step-grandmother, Janie Blankenship; maternal grandmother, Willie Ray Blankenship; and paternal grandparents, Dotson.
He is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Dr. David and Thu Dotson of Holt, MI; nephew, Alexander Dotson of Holt, MI; niece, Marilyn Dotson of Holt, MI; aunts, Mamie Prater and husband Gene, Betty Blankenship and Brenda Blankenship all of McMinnville; and numerous cousins also survive.
