PORTAGE LAKES – David Allen Weil, 79. Beloved. He made his transition to Heaven on Friday, April 27, 2018.

He was born November 4, 1938 in Akron and raised by loving parents, Glennard and Delpha Weil. A talented trombonist, he played for Coventry High and Akron University’s band and was a member of Phi Kappa Tau. He worked for First National Bank and First Federal Savings and Loan.

David, a Rotarian, served as president and escorted an exchange team on a six week trip to England. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and boating. He served as treasurer for the Portage Lakes Historical Society and also for a church he helped build in Portage Lakes.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dona; son and daughter-in-law, David and Barbara Weil; and grandchildren, Roma and Jackson; sister, Sandra; and dear sister-in-law, Petrea. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Road, Akron, Oh 44319 from 4 to 7 PM.

Private graveside committal will be held at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in David and Dawn’s name to Echoing Ridge, 643 Beverly Ave. , Canal Fulton, OH 44614.
