OBITUARY David Charles Osborne December 24, 1949 – December 29, 2018 David Charles Osborne “Oz”, 69 of Ashville passed away December 29, 2018. Funeral Service will be held at 6p.m. January 2, 2018 at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Derrick Jordan officiating.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 4 until 6p.m. Military honors will be rendered in the Chapel at Sunset. (4:15p.m.) during visitation. David was an amazing man and loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was a 1968 graduate of Emma Sansom High School. Following graduation he joined the United States Navy where he served from January 1971 until December 1975 during the Cold War Era. He was a public servant as a firefighter for 42 years.

He retired as commander after 25 years of service from the Gadsden Fire Department. He then served as firefighter and lieutenant before becoming Chief of the Oneonta Fire Department in 2006 where he served until retirement in 2013. David’s love for the outdoors began at a very young age.

He had a passion for hunting and loved spending time with his friends at the R & S Hunting Club. David was preceded in death by his parents, John Charles Osborne and Tommie Wallace Osborne; along with his brother, Jack Thomas Osborne. He is survived by his wife, Toby Osborne ; children, Stacey Yates, David Scott Osborne, Vicki (Chuck Phillips) Bright, Brandi Adams; grandson, Noah Yates; brother, Steve (Jannice) Osborne; sister in laws, Sherri Alford, Renea Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and all his firefighter brothers and sisters, and the R & S Hunting family.
