OBITUARY David Coombes October 28, 1941 – July 28, 2018 David C. Coombes, 76, of Van Buren, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Fort Smith, AR. He was born October 28, 1941 in Cedarville, AR. He was a retired tile setter for 50 years, owner/operator of D & L Tile Company and a long haul trucking company.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; wife, Shirley and granddaughter, Dea Jai “DJ. He is survived by two daughters, Revona “Crickett” Coombes Short and her husband Rick of Lavaca and Leona “Sam” Crowe of Figure Five; two stepdaughters, Sherry Redding of Van Buren and Melinda Hay of Fort Smith; one stepson, Gary Crawford of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Anah Dea Crowe, Ethan Crowe and Alex Crowe all of NW Arkansas; four step grandchildren, Christopher and Josh Coombes of Van Buren, Christinia and Justin Gregory of Fort Smith; six step great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel in Van Buren with burial to follow at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
