Obituary for Mr. David E. Timmons Timmons, David E. Age 62 of Minneapolis passed away suddenly on 7/3/2018. Preceded in death by his parents, Esther and LeRoy, and brother Douglas. Survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Ann Mikkelson Timmons and sister, Dianne Einsphar of Arvada, CO, and sister-in-law, Nancy Timmons of Fredonia, KS.
Many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. He graduated from High School in Fredonia, KS and Emporia State University at Emporia KS, with a degree in teaching. He taught elementary school in Montezuma, KS before moving to Fargo, ND in 1981 where he began his career in sales.
David was very involved in the community, participating in social and political organizations. He served as President of Fargo West and as Assistant District Governor of Rotary in ND. David was a member if the Board of Directors of Eventide, a non-profit Senior Living facility in Moorhead Minnesota.
David was also President of the Fargo-Moorhead Opera Company. He was active in the Golden Valley MN Rotary as well as President of the board of Cedar Lake Townhomes in Minneapolis. David lived life to the fullest.
He loved to travel – meeting people, exploring interesting foods and new places – appreciating beauty in all its forms. He will be remembered by many lifelong friends and business associates for his flair for cooking and entertaining, plus his knack for flower gardening and creating beautiful arrangements. Celebration of David’s Life Service – will be held at Washburn McReavy Edina Chapel 5000 W. 50th Edina, MN on July 19th at 2pm, visitation from 1:30 – 2 pm.
Hotel arrangements have been made with the Springhill Suites by Marriott at 5901 Wayzata Blvd, St. Louis Park, MN. A second Celebration will be held in Fargo, ND at the Delta Hotels by Marriott on Saturday July 21st beginning at 11 AM, visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:00 AM. The Delta is located at 1635 42nd Street SW in Fargo.
