Thomson, GA -David Harold Welch, 69, was born July 16, 1949 in Augusta, GA to the late Johnny R. Welch and Margaret Rabun Welch. He died Sunday, September 16, 2018, in Thomson, Georgia. Mr. Welch had lived most of his life in Thomson.

He was retired from Tracy Lucky Pecan Company and was a member of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers. Larry Welch, Claude Welch, Jimmy Welch and Terry Welch and one sister, Peggy Welch Hillman.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Meadows Welch of Thomson, Georgia. He is also survived by his sons, David “Snowball” Welch (Candy) and Felton Welch (Jennifer) and his daughter, Cheryl Welch Neal (Bryant) all of Thomson, Georgia, five grandchildren, Colby Welch, Daniel Welch, Noah Welch, Matthew Welch and Kaylee Welch, two sisters in law, Rita Welch and Sandra Price as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. There will be a funeral service held in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel in Thomson, Georgia on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev.

Bryant Neal and Rev. Don Widener officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Dearing, Georgia.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Walker Cemetery Fund c/o Warren McCorkle, 4669 Adams Chapel Rd. , Dearing, Georgia 30808.
