David Joseph Owczarski was called home to meet his savior whom he had served since his salvation in 1958. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, he passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Owczarski.

Dave was born on April 4, 1941, in Cook County, IL. In 1950, his parents moved the family to Rothbury, MI, where he attended Hiteman School.

After graduating from Montague High School in 1959, he married Barbara Seaver on December 5th and began a career at Howmet Corp. He received a call to ministry in 1976 and left Howmet to become a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Dave graduated from Baptist University of America in Decatur, GA, in 1978 and was pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Roswell, GA, until 1991.

From 1992 until 2010, “Pastor Dave”, as he loved to be called, served as Senior Pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, MD. These were exciting and rewarding years of ministry for the Kingdom of Heaven. Many souls were saved, believers baptized, and lives changed to the glory of God.

Pastor Dave had a special ability to build and encourage men to be strong, godly leaders at home and in the church. Owczarski was a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and servant of the Lord. He will be remembered with joy and deeply missed until we meet again at Jesus’ feet.
