Obituary for David Jeffery McVay McVAY, David Jeffery Of Kalamazoo, MI David Jeffery McVay was born on August 12,1990 to Shannon Horton and David Cameron. David attended the Portage and Kalamazoo school district where he earned his high school diploma David would go on to attend Grand Rapids Community College where he studied computer information systems courses. David’s exceptional knowledge for computers would lead to his passion for producing music for many artists both locally and nationally.
David could create a beat that was so unique, that his artists would always come back for more. Every one knew 808 McVay – McVay on the Beat! David was not only a talented music producer, he excelled in his trade as a floor installer.
He loved his work and took great pride and detail in describing the techniques he’d come to master. The things that defined David the most was being a devoted father to DeLanni Nicole and Amir Ibraham. His children were his everything and everyone could see how much they loved their daddy.
David was a wonderful father, son, brother, uncle and nephew and his memory will carry on through those who loved him. David is preceded in death by his brother Nicholas and leaves to carry on his legacy his father David Cameron (Tammara Johnson), his mother Shannon Horton, his grandparents, Phil and Margy McVay, his loving sister Jennifer McVeigh (Shawn Graham) his brothers Brian and Jaren Cameron, James Horton and his step brothers, Steven and Kenneth Johnson. David will also be remembered by his niece Jaiden Reed and his nephews Marlow Reed and Brody McVeigh.
David had a host of aunts, uncles and cousin who will also cherish his memory. A Service to Celebrate David’s Life will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, July 11th at the Milwood Community Church, 3306 Lovers Lane, Kalamazoo, MI 49001. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall.
