David’s Obituary A Celebration of Life will be held for David John Mitchell on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie. He will take his “last ride” after the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

The family requests that the Celebration be observed at Melancon Funeral Home on Saturday, March 16, 2019 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Mr. Mitchell, age 66, of Plaucheville, formerly of Bunkie, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Rapides Regional Medical Center. He was a professional fire fighter and first responder medic with the Bunkie Fire Department. He also had been a park ranger in Colorado and a Dish TV installer.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Adell Frances Mitchell. He is survived by the love of his life, Frankie Mayeaux of Plaucheville; his father, Dave Mitchell of Pembroke Pines, FL; his brother, Paul Mitchell and his wife, Marlene, of Kindall, FL and his sister, Monica Mitchell of Aventur, FL.
