Mr. David Johnathan McCulley passed away Friday, May 10, 2019. He was 54. Mr. McCulley was born on September 25, 1964, at the Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana.

He graduated from Satsuma High School, Satsuma Alabama class of 1982. He attended Faulkner Vocational in Prichard, Alabama where he received his air conditioning and refrigeration degree. He was also a member of VICA.

He then joined the U.S. Navy and was on the USS Halsey as a Machinist Mate Fireman apprentice. November 24, 1986, he came back to Evergreen, Alabama to help his father in is air conditioning and refrigeration repair business. He then started in August of 1987 at Polyfelt in Evergreen and worked his way up to Quality Supervisor.

This company would change names many times before he left in May of 2003. He earned many certificates while working and traveling for this company. He then started at Clarion in Montgomery, Alabama from May 2003 to May 2005 as Field Quality Engineer.

Then May 2005 he was employed by Lean Corporation in Montgomery, Alabama as a Quality Engineer. He loved this job and the people he worked with. He worked here until November 15, 2016, when he could no longer work.

He was very involved in his sons’ activities. He was Babe Ruth President at Evergreen City Park 2005. He was the assistant coach for many years for baseball at the park.

He also helped with Boy Scouts. He took a taekwondo class in Andalusia, Alabama under Chris Nelson with his son where they both received their first-degree black belt. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Riding four wheelers at Boggs and Boulders with Stacey Wright and family. Alabama football, grilling out, eating seafood, baseball games, loved listening to classic rock, concerts, spending time with his pets, reaching out to family and friends on Facebook, always trying to help someone, attending church at Jones Chapel Church in Flat Rock, Alabama. Mr. McCulley is survived by his loving wife of 30 plus years, Debbie C. E. Wright McCulley of Evergreen; son, Joshua Corey McCulley of Evergreen; brother-in-law, Stacey Wright of Evergreen; brother, Aaron (Karen) McCulley Jr. of Foley; sister, Lisa (Danny) Orso of Lucedale, MS.

; step brother, Ricky (Debbie) Perry of Wilmer; stepsister, Diane (John) Herrington of Lucedale, MS. ; stepsister Late Gwen Perry. He is preceded in death by parents, Aaron and Charlotte Orso McCulley and stepmother Kathleen McCulley.

He has one surviving Uncle J. Henry (Linda) McCulley of Saraland; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved very much. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Cope Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor George D. Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Cope Keahey Funeral Home. Pallbearers include A. J. McCulley, Brandon Porter, Roy Lowery, Michael Morris, Jake McInvale and Jeremy Peters. Flowers or donations to the family will be appreciated.
