David’s Obituary David L. Eby, age 83, of O’Neill passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill. Following his wishes, there will be no services. Memorials can be made to the family for future designation.

Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill is in charge of arrangements. David LeRoy Eby was born May 24, 1935 near Page, Nebraska to Ray and Mabel (Nissen) Eby. He attended O’Neill Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1953 and went on to attend Wayne State College.

In January of 1955, he enlisted in the Army Medical Corp. and served as an EENT Specialist for three years at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. David married Beverly Johnson on August 24, 1956 in Aurora, Colorado.

To this union three children were born; Tamra, Teri and Todd. In 1958, Dave was discharged from the Army. He worked in Omaha as a District Sales Representative for Conoco.

Dave later moved to O’Neill and joined his family’s business, Eby’s Inc., and managed Woody’s Cafe for 40 years. He also worked for Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital transportation unit for 10 years as a van driver. David was an avid golfer, hunter, and Big Red Fan.

He enjoyed all sporting events. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sports and activities. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in O’Neill, O’Neill Golf Club, the O’Neill American Legion Simonson Post 93, NRA, Elks Club, and volunteered the Mobile Food Pantry.

David is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Beverly Eby of O’Neill; daughters, Tamra (Dr. Robert) Krugman of Spearfish, SD, Teri Eby-Hughes (Brad Hughes) of Norfolk, NE; son, Todd (Monica) Eby of Omaha, NE; seven grandchildren; Dr. Kallie Krugman, Trevor Krugman, Chase Hughes, Guerin Hughes, Logan Eby, Lauren Eby, Collyn Eby; five great-grandchildren, Tristan Eby, Jayden Eby, Avery Eby, Adalee Krugman, Raegan Krugman; three brothers, Bill (Linda) Eby of Neligh, NE, Bob (Colleen) Eby and Fred (Jeanette) Eby, both of O’Neill, NE; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
