David Lewis Flecker, age 98, of Moon Township, passed away at Heritage Valley Hospital-Sewickley on Saturday, April 27, 2019. He was born on March 19, 1921 in Rayne Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania to Louis and Laura (Feitshans) Flecker. A graduate of Marion Center High School, David served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

In 1953, he married Myra Walker, his lifelong companion. Three years later, David moved his family from Indiana to Coraopolis to work at the Dravo Corporation. He was a long-time member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Coraopolis and the Coraopolis Sportsmen’s Club.

David is survived by four children: – Pamela (Timothy) Webb of Harmony Township, James Flecker of Moon Township, Ira Flecker of Blairsville, and Nancy (Stephen) Petrella of Hopewell Township; six grandchildren – Nicole (Brent) Darroch, Justin (Amanda) Webb, Shayna (Robert) Raver, Kelly (Jared) Heinly, Joshua Petrella, and Melissa Petrella; five great-grandchildren: – Brent and Giavanna Darroch, Hayley and Harrison Webb, and Benjamin Raver. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Allen Oaks of Dayton, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Betty (Walker) Mabon of Palm Harbor, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Myra (Walker) Flecker; an infant daughter, Linda Mae; and four sisters: – Marguerite (Burnell) Ford, Mary Lois Flecker, Louise Flecker, and Martha (Allen) Oaks.

Blessed with excellent health, David enjoyed gardening, traveling, hunting, taking bus trips with the Moon Seniors, and spending time with family. He was honored on numerous occasions for donating blood regularly to the Sewickley Valley Hospital Blood Bank. The family will receive visitors on Thursday May 2nd from 3pm to 7pm at the R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Road in Moon Township.

There will be a private burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
