OBITUARY David Lipscomb Hill Jr. December 5, 1939 – October 1, 2018 David Lipscomb Hill, Jr., age 78 of Chattanooga passed away on October 1, 2018. He was of the Methodist faith and had attended Brainerd United Methodist Church. David served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.
He was in the original unit of Green Berets under the command of Gen. Westmoreland. David received his Bachelor’s Degree from the Citadel.
He served as Hospital Administrator for Erlanger Health Systems for 20+ years. One of David’s favorite pastimes was playing golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Lipscomb Hill, Sr., and Lucy Hughes Hill.
Left behind to cherish David’s memory are his wife, Jimmie McDowell Hill, daughter, Kelly Hill, and sisters, Jane Southerland and Lucy (David) McLain. A Celebration of David’s Life will be held graveside in the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Thursday October 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Adam McKee officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd.
