David Paul (Dave) Farrington passed away September 30, 2018. He was born September 22, 1932 to Paul L. and Hazel (Cady) Farrington of Stillwater, OK. He graduated from Stillwater High School in 1950 and Oklahoma State University in 1954 with a degree in Civil Engineering.

His work experience included the City of Bartlesville, the City of Norman, Poe and Associates Consulting Engineers, McAlester, OK, the City of Midwest City, and the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. In 1957… Read More » Dave married Helen Moore, who preceded him in death in 1991. He was a member of Meadowood Baptist Church, having served as an usher for many years.

His other interest areas were Oklahoma and Western History and cooking. Dave joined the Oklahoma Historical Society in 1956 and was a lifetime member. He had an epic collection of barbed wire that he loved to talk about to whoever would listen.

Dave participated in numerous area chili cook offs with his well known “Redneck Chili”. He won the Oklahoma State Beef Cook-off in 1988. He was a regular recipe contributor to Melba’s Swap Shop in the Wednesday Oklahoman.

Dave is survived by 2 sons Mark and his wife Sherry of Cincinnati, OH; and Scott and his wife Julie of Stillwater, OK; three grandchildren Lindsay Romine and her husband Andrew of Tulsa, Patrick Farrington of Tulsa, and Noah Farrington of Stillwater; and one great-granddaughter.
