David Robert Franklin April 08, 1948 – March 25, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card FRANKLIN, David Robert – Of Flint, age 70, went to be Home with his Heavenly Father on Monday, March 25, 2019 at his residence. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jerry Foster officiating. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. David was born in Flint, Michigan on April 8, 1948, the son of Robert and Phyllis (Orling) Franklin.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in 1968. On September 11, 1982 he married Pamela Podulka in Flint. David spent 35 years as a Mail Carrier in Flint.

He attended Riverdale Baptist Church. He loved movies, enjoyed fishing and shooting guns. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving are wife, Pamela; children, Kellie (Brad) DeLange, Andrew (Amber) Franklin and Allyson (Scott) DeLange; grandchildren, Halle and Parker DeLange, Ford and Etta Franklin, Finn, Leo and Jack DeLange; Uncle John Looney and cousin, Terry Monro. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved stepmom, Glenna Campbell.
