David Rogers Sharples, 79, passed away November 20th at Baystate Medical Center. David was born in Westfield on November 18, 1939. David was a life long resident to Westfield and attended Westfield Schools.

He worked for Strathmore Paper for over 36 years. He belonged to St. Rocco’s Mens Club, and the Fraternal Order Eagles Club. He was an avid candle pin bowler at the former Romani’s in Westfield.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years Laurie Sharples (Humphreys);his children, Shanna Sharples and her partner Jon Avery and Deborah Sharples; grandchildren, Jonathan, Becky Lynn, and Roberts; his siblings Dorene White, James Welch, Ruthie Bloking, Mary Fisher and Theresa Rowe. David was predeceased by his step father James Welch and his mother Katherine Welch. Calling hours for David will be Friday, November 30th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Westfield Funeral Home and Cremation, 4 Princeton Street in Westfield.
