David Ronald “Ron” Hayson, 78, of Monterey, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at his home. He was born in Charleston, W.V. on February, 4, 1940, a son of the late Charlotte (Huston) and James Cantwell Hayson. On June 19, 1968 he married Brenda Kaye Cochran.

He served in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne. Once returning, he started working as a welder at Union Carbide, now Dow Chemical, until his retirement. He loved hunting, being outdoors and spending time at his camp in Sugar Grove, W.V. His greatest joy was time spent with family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Hayson; and two sisters, Charlene Roy and Valana Post. He is survived by his wife and caretaker, Brenda Hayson, of Monterey; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Jeanine Hayson, of Scott DePot, W.Va. ; sister, Mary Shamblin of Greenville, S.C.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Upon his request, his body was cremated and no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
