David S. Rohlfing, aka Papa the Man, the Myth the Legend, 71, of Longwood, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 10. He was born in South Bend, IN to Shirley and Ralph Rohlfing. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother John.

He lived most of his life in Terrace Park, Ohio before settling his family in the Wekiva area of Longwood, FL. He was known to many as charismatic, bright, and his wit was as quick as the broad smirk on his face was long. He attended Miami University where he earned his Bachelors degree in Business Management and was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

During his college shenanigans he was lucky enough to meet his wife, Charlene. Dave and Charlene went on to have three daughters. Dave provided for his family by working at Navistar/International trucking for over 30 years.

He retired in 2002, thus flourishing his long tradition of watching Young & The Restless further. His proudest of accomplishment and strength came on July 2nd 2006 when a good friend drove him to a meeting. Dave was a dog whisper, lawn mower, car washer, a money tree to his girls as he would say, and Saturday game watcher.

He enjoyed sunsets on the balcony with his family and his love, Charlene. He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 ½ years Charlene , daughters Amity (Robert) Grable, Jessica (Phillip) Martin, and Erika Rohlfing. He cherished his grandchildren – Ada Martin, Lyla Martin, Cecilia Grable, and Luke Grable.

His brother Eric (Celeste) Rohlfing and their daughters Meg and Anne Rohlfing. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society www. cancer.org/, American Diabetes Association www.
