OBITUARY Dawson “Buddy” Cook Jr. May 8, 1949 – January 21, 2019 Play Tribute Movie Dawson “Buddy” Cook, Jr., 69, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Dawson was born in Louisville and a graduate of Thomas Jefferson H.S. He attended the University of Kentucky and served in the Air Force for 6 years.

In 2015 he retired from FedEX and was previously employed by UPS. He was preceded in death by his parents Dawson W. Cook, Sr. and Dottie Malin. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Veronica; children, Michael and Angela; sister, Barbara (Lonnie Norris); niece, Michelle (Brent Dawson), and their 3 children; a large extended family and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Dawson will be remembered as a devoted family man with a great sense-of-humor. He loved fishing, playing poker, following the stock market, spending time with friends and family and sharing his snacks. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 10-2pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road , with a Celebration of Dawson’s life to follow at 2pm at the funeral home.

Donations can be made in Dawson’s honor to the Derby City Dog Rescue.
