Dean’s Obituary Marion, VA Douglas Dean Atwell, Jr., age 50 passed away Tuesday April 30, 2019 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. Dean was born in Marion, VA to the late Doug and Clara Atwell and was preceded in death by a sister Kimberly Atwell. He graduated from Marion Senior High School in 1987 where he served as class president and played football.

He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corp and was employed at General Dynamics for the past 15 years. Dean was a loving husband and a great dad. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved music.

Survivors include, his wife Cheri Atwell; children Noah Atwell and Bailey Atwell; brother Jeryl Atwell and wife Colleen; several other loving family members also survive. Funeral services will be held at 7PM Friday May 3, 2019 at the Bradley’s Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Craig Gibson officiating. Military Honors will be rendered.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM prior to services. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www. bradleysfh.com.
