Dean’s Obituary Dean E. Surrell, 56, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away peacefully Sunday, May 12, 2019 at his residence. Dean was born December 25th, 1962 in Sioux Falls, SD, the son of John M. Surrell & Joan M. Surrell. He grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School.

On September 16, 1995 he was united in marriage to Teresa Wagner-Surrell in Plymouth, MN. They moved to Sioux Falls in December 2005 to be closer to their families. Dean had a variety of jobs throughout his life – commercial roofing while he lived in the cities and also worked at Robbinsdale School District.

After moving back to Sioux Falls he spent his time of employment at Westward Ho Country Club, he also worked at apartment complexes as a maintenance worker with his most recent employment at Ronning Enterprises. While not working Dean really enjoyed spending his time fishing with his brothers, cousins, nephews and kids. He also enjoyed camping with his friends and family.

When not fishing he also enjoyed spending his time with his beloved grandchildren whom he was very proud of. He is preceded in death by his Father, Mother, Uncle Richard & Father-in-law Dennis E. Wagner. Grateful for having shared his life are: his wife, Teresa of Sioux Falls; his 4 daughters, Eliza & her husband Sam of Sioux Falls, Alicia & her husband Reed of Sioux Falls, Samantha & her Husband Brent of St. Cloud, MN and Olivia of Sioux Falls; his 4 grandchildren, Deserae, Mandolin & Raymond Plumski (Brent & Samantha) Everlee Nelson (Eliza & Sam Nelson).

Also grateful for having shared his life are his siblings: Rita, Dennis, David (Bridget), Roxanne & his nieces & nephews: Christina, Matt, Lacy, Alex, Devin, Mick, Travis & April. A funeral service for Dean will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2019 at Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation with the family present will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
