Harold Dean Silver, age 70, of Dula Road in Spruce Pine, died Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Brian Center Health & Rehab in Spruce Pine. Born on July 22, 1948 in Mitchell County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Ed Silver, Sr. and Grace Buchanan Silver. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Paul E. Silver, Jr. Dean was a member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School Director and Sunday School Teacher.

He was employed by the Quartz Corp for twenty years. Dean loved spending time with his family and particularly with his grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoyed working on projects around his home and working in his yard.

He like football and was a Carolina Panthers fan. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of fifty-one years; Betty Baker Silver of the home; his sons; Tony Dean Silver and wife, Lisa and Lance Carroll Silver and wife, Kayla all of Spruce Pine; his grandchildren; McKinley Addison Silver and Isabella Grace Silver both of Spruce Pine and Damien Dean Silver of Hickory. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for Dean Silver on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 7:00 pm at the Berry Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev.

Steve Williams officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Berry Chapel Baptist Church. Graveside service and interment will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
