Deanna’s Obituary Deanna Lynn Hardacre, age 72 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born April 22, 1946; the daughter of Virgil and Mae (Phillips) Hardacre. Deanna graduated from Western Illinois University and went on to receive her Master’s Degree from National Lewis College.

She was a speech pathologist for several Illinois schools, lastly teaching in the EXCEL Program in Freeport. She was a member of the 100 Women Who Care Club. Deanna enjoyed volunteering and traveling.

She also loved spending time with her friends, family and especially her dogs. She is survived by her sister, Virginia (Leroy) Shadle of Freeport; nieces and nephews, Lauri Allen of DeKalb, IL, Gregory (Vicki) Shadle of Freeport, Scot (Kim Phillips) Shadle of Ridott, IL, and Brett (Marie) Shadle of Blacksburg, VA; great nieces and nephews, Kristin (Greg Derrick) Allen, Leigh (David) Griesbach, Keith (Amber) Lehnherr, Hannah Shadle, Torry (Matt) Fry, Savanna Shadle, Elliot Shadle, and Alden Shadle; and 7 great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 22nd from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport.

The funeral service will be Sunday, December 23rd at 1:00 p.m. also at Walker Mortuary. Interment will take place at the Ellis Van Brocklin Cemetery in Freeport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center www.
