Mrs. Deborah S. Coleman (Debbie), 60, of Sanford, NC, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She fought a long and courageous battle against several illnesses. She was born in Columbus County, NC on July 28, 1958 to Milton (Joe) Smith and Shirley Smith Murphy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father Kendall Murphy. Debbie worked for many years at Cascade Fibers, the Sanford Herald, and other businesses in Sanford. Debbie was a devoted Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend.

Debbie married the love of her life Joseph P. Coleman on October 29, 1976. Joe and Debbie were married 37 years until his passing in 2013. Joe, Shane, Kayla and Boogie were everything to Debbie and she loved them dearly.

Debbie is survived by her son Shane Coleman and daughter-in-law Joy Nunnery of Sanford, NC. She is survived by her granddaughter Kayla Elizabeth Coleman of Sanford. She is survived by her brother Leo Smith and sister-in-law Jan of Sanford, her sister Tammie Lynch of Sanford, by step-granddaughters Brianna Nunnery and Ivie Nunnery of Sanford, her great-grandson Joseph Coleman, sister-in-law Ann Coleman of Sanford, sister-in-law Clara Simmons of Whiteville, NC, nieces and nephews, Derik, McCail, Benjy, Jeremy, Josh, Wanda, Skylar, by her dear friends Cyndi, Mary, Ginny, Paula, Debbie, and her fur babies Mojo and Sassy.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the family home.
