Eunice was born February 01, 1939 in Heber City to Floyd Milton Humes and Maxine Isabell Condie. At the tender age of 14, she met and married her soulmate, the love of her life Gilbert Joseph Ferran dancing at the Chalet. From that moment on they were inseparable.

Instead of two, they became one, they were not referred to as Gil or as Eunice, but they became known as Gil & Eunice, one name. They never stopped holding each other hands whenever they went anywhere. The beginning of their married life, they worked the orchards and fields with each other, as their family grew, they only grew closer.

It was never just dad, or mom, they were Mom and Dad. Only death separated them. Eunice never said she was widowed, she continued to say she was married, her husband just lived in Heaven.

Eunice loved people, she loved spending time with them in the outdoors, camping, and most of all just fishing with her family. She enjoyed her flower garden. She had a green thumb and loved tending to a garden.

She loved family gatherings, her family Christmas breakfast will be missed. She attended schools in Wasatch County. She made lifelong friends working at the Barbizon and Bailey’s Factories as a Machine Operator.

After retirement she found her life’s reward of a volunteer at The Senior Companion Program. She loved the ladies she helped and they in turn loved her and waited for the days she would visit them. She attended St. Francis Catholic Church where she enjoyed the work of Bible study with the ladies of the church.

Later she attended CenterPoint Church with her children and grandchildren until her health prevented this. Eunice is survived by her sister, Kathy Crowell of Fairview, Oregon. Her children, Greg Ferran, Orem, Utah, Roland (Claudia) Ferran, South Jordan, Utah, Kitt Dora M. Slaid, Orem, Utah, Georgia (Dean) Omer, Orem, Utah, and Adam (Joi) Ferran, Orem, Utah.

She will be missed by her 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her nieces, and nephews will miss their aunt Nicie. She is survived by her lifelong friend Nina Millet of Pleasant Grove, Utah.

She also leaves behind a greater larger extended family that called her mom, sister, cousin and friend. Her humor, acceptance of others and strength will be missed by her many, many friends that she called family. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Ferran, her parents, Floyd and Maxine Humes, Her sister Naomi Zamora Trotter and her much beloved granddaughters, Aubrey Lyn Ferran (21) and Tina Nicole Leone (13) and great granddaughter Adelaide Terri Lynne Hansen (6 months).

Eunice struggled with Renal Failure and Dialysis these last years. She fought valiantly and stubbornly against naysayers and some other words she used call doctors to stay with us. Greg became her roommate, best friend, partner and as her health struggle continued her full-time caregiver.

Greg never shunned nor complained about caring for mom, he kept promises to her that most could not. He held us all up, while he carried the work of caring for her. Mom knew about his sacrifice and to him he declared it no sacrifice, but it was to him, his privilege and honor to care for her.

Greg you truly were the wind beneath our wings and to mom you were her saving grace. You earned your wings, thank you, brother, you do and did us all proud. Mom had many caregivers these past years.

Gratitude and gratefulness for her care seem small words, however the heartfelt emotion for the care, love and friendship she has received has been overwhelming. We would like to thank Utah Valley Hospital ICU, Utah Valley Hospital Neuroshock Trauma, and Utah Valley Specialty Hospital. There is a special place in our hearts and mom’s for Davita Dialysis.

You were her family, her friends and caregivers. Her many stories from her treatments we will treasure for years. Thank you for you love of our mom, Eunice.

We thank you for all the support, kind words, thoughts hugs and prayers.
