Delos H. Mallette, age 89, a resident of Northville, died Monday, April 29, 2019, at Albany Medical Center in Albany. He was born in Albany, NY, on November 17, 1929, the son of the late Dayton and Philena Dedrick Mallette. He was a graduate of the Otego Central School class of 1947, NYS Ranger School, Wanakena, 1950, and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 1956.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. Delos was employed as a Forester for Green Mountain National Forest in Vermont from 1956 to 1957, and by the NYSDEC from 1957 to 1991. He married Ellen May Carpenter on December 29, 1956.

Survivors include his cherished wife Ellen, daughters Susan L. and Nora J., and granddaughters, Kali (Brendan) Weinstein and Kendall Aitken. In keeping with his wishes, funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the environmental organization of one’s choice, such as the Nature Conservancy: www.
