Obituary for Demetra Anne Goad Demetra Anne Quinley Goad, 78, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018. A visitation/memorial service will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Friendship Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 a.m. She was born in Tigrett, TN on February 25, 1940 to William and Mildred Quinley. Demetra graduated with the honor of Historian from Friendship High School in May 1958.

She was an active member of Tigrett United Methodist Church. Demetra moved to Memphis after graduation where she worked at a local insurance agency. She met Don Goad, her future husband, when he intentionally went to the office to meet the woman with the “beautiful” voice.

Not only did he love her voice, but he also fell in love with the whole woman. The two were married on August 5, 1961. Demetra and Don were happily married for 50 years, before moving to Texas to be closer to their kids.

Together they had three children, Trudy, Carol, and Jon. Demetra is preceded in death by her father, Bill Quinley, her mother, Mildred Bills Quinley, and her sister, Brenda. Don, her loving husband, also preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory all three of her children. Trudy McWilliams and her husband, Russ, Carol Vanlandingham and Jerrod, her husband, and Jon Goad. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Brooke and Callie McWilliams, Christian, Preston and Jonah Vanlandingham, and KatieAnne Goad.
