Obituary for Denise Evette Shafer Denise Evette Shafer, 53, went to be with the Lord on May 22nd 2018. She was born to Harold Lloyd Stansbury & Reba Alene Davis-Stansbury on April 27th 1965. Denise is survived by husband Steven Ray Shafer of Midwest City OK.
They were married on November, 19th 2005. She is also survived by her daughter and son in law Casey and Skylar Jernigan of Del City OK: Son and Daughter in law Kendall and Laura McDaniel of Oklahoma City OK: Son and daughter in law Derrick and Tiffany McDaniel of Cement OK: Son and daughter in law Cody and Jade McDaniel of Kiefer OK: Step Daughter Cassa Shafer of Oklahoma City OK: Step Son Dustin Shafer of Midwest City OK. Denise was blessed to be called OMA by 8 grandchildren Hunter 16, Tiffany 14, Calista 9, Dunkin 8, Kinley 7, Ryder 5, Rylee 3, Kobe 8 Months and many more.
Denise is also survived by her siblings Mary and Steve Fletcher of Indiana, Etta and Bill Rodgers of Del City OK, Tracy Stansbury of Oklahoma City OK, Harold and Treva Stansbury of Del City OK, Vesta Tanksley of Oklahoma City OK. Denise is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Reba Stansbury and, Brother David Stansbury. The memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 29th at 2 PM at Friendship Pentecostal Holiness Church, 11301 S.E. 104th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73165.
Services will be officiated by Pastor Bob Temple. She was a beautiful and Godly Woman that left this earth too soon. Denise Shafer will always be OMA and Mom to so many in this world.
Denise filled rooms with her big laugh; one of the unique things that we will miss in this world without her. She never missed an opportunity to tell you how much she loved you especially on hard days. Denise was a light that God placed on this earth that made a difference in so many lives.
Denise never ran out of love to give she was called friend by so many. When Denise was a young mother she worked many jobs to support her 4 kids that she called her world. Nothing in this world made her more proud then to brag about her children and O-Babies.
Words from her husband Steven Shafer: Denise and I were married on November 19th, 2005. We were very much in love and planned on growing old together. We worked together for several years but didn’t start dating until we had started working at separate jobs in late 2001.
She took a job in the insurance industry where she spent most of the rest of her career. She held licenses for both claims adjuster and agent. She and I loved to spend time with our children and grandchildren.
She wasn’t just Oma to her grandchildren, but also to just about every child she met under the age of 10. She loved those kids, all of them. She attended Friendship PH Church with me for the last 13 years and her faith was very important to her.
She kept me from being anchored on the ground and I kept her from hitting the moon, a perfect fit. She was the spark that made my heart beat. I miss her every moment of every day.
