Denise Lynn (Appel) Ard, 64, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 surrounded by her family, at home after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer. She was born in Meriden, CT to the late Dennis and Anne (Finch) Appel. Denise was Vice President of Claims for Greenwood International Insurance Co. in Boston and more recently she was a Claims Analyst for Munich RE in Andover.

She loved lavender, dragonflies and cardinals and going for foliage rides. She is survived by her husband Patrick J. Higgins, son Thomas Ard and daughter Vanessa Ard, both of Hampden. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Wilbraham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (NCCRA), Entertainment Industry Foundation, 10880 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 1400, Los Angeles, CA 90024.
