Dennis Corbett White, 65, of Sacramento, California, born to the late John and ValDene White, passed away peacefully in his home on December 3, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Dennis was born on July 18, 1953, in Sacramento, California, at Sutter Memorial Hospital. Dennis attended David Lubin Elementary School, Sutter Junior High School, and Sacramento High School, Class of 1971.
He then attended Sacramento City College and received his AA degree in General Education and then… Read More » his AS degree in Mechanical/Electrical Technology in 1978 (California Contractor’s License in Warm Air Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning). He worked in this trade for Pettit Mechanical and All Year Refrigeration for a number of years, as well as Plant Engineer at Sutter Memorial Hospital for 25 years until his retirement. Dennis lived his entire life in Sacramento being raised in East Sacramento.
His favorite passion was fishing the rivers in the Sacramento area, as well as traveling to a number of special fishing holes in Mammoth, Alaska, Canada and many more. He loved spending time with his fishing friends, enjoying this special time with his friends the most. He also enjoyed the card parties they would have, always taking his bag of pennies with him.
His most favorite thing of all though was spending time with family, and they in turn enjoyed the fun times at family parties. Dennis was so very helpful in teaching people how to do and make things, always helping them learn how to do it without doing the work for them – a great teaching tool for those lucky enough to have learned from him. Dennis was always available when one of his friends needed to move – he was right there with his truck to help them out.
He was the kind of friend everyone loved because he always gave of himself and asked for nothing in return. Dennis is survived by his sister, Nancy Ball of Sacramento, niece Jeniffer Henry of Sacramento, nephew Jasen Ball of Folsom and four loving great nieces: Emma Henry, Maddy Ball, Lucy Ball, and Claire Ball. He was also fortunate to have a special “brother” for his entire life, Randy Yen.
Donations in Dennis’ honor may be sent to the American Cancer Society or Sutter Hospice. A private memorial will be planned after the first of the year. .
