Obituary for Dennis Eugene Steele Steele, Dennis Eugene of Kalamazoo, MI Dennis Eugene Steele, age 73, died May 21, 2018. Dennis was born January 25, 1945, the son of Justin Eugene and Freda Isabelle (Trinkaus) Steele. He spent his childhood in Linden, MI before attending Kalamazoo College, where he played football and studied economics.

Dennis started his career as a teacher and semi-pro football player, before becoming a stock broker and avid golfer in Kalamazoo. He retired from Morgan-Stanley in 2014. Dennis is survived by his wife of 20 years Fonda K. Steele; son Derek (Sarah) Steele; granddaughter Cosette Steele; mother Isabelle Steele; siblings Deborah (Ron) Ciotti, Christopher (Marcia) Steele, Valarie Soldan, Bethany Wolfram (Cameron); brother-in-law Steve (Patsy) Czitterberg; niece Emma Czitterberg and many other nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Dennis’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Dennis’ life will be held at 12:30PM on Saturday, June 23rd at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. The family will greet friends at the Westside Chapel from 11:30AM until 12:30PM.

Immediately following the service, a gathering will be held at Great Lakes Shipping Co. Restaurant, 4525 West KL Ave. Memorial contributions in Dennis’ memory may be directed to Kalamazoo College Athletic Program, or to a charity of your choice. Please visit Dennis’ personalized guest book at www.
