Obituary for Dennis R. Hubert Dennis Roger Hubert, age 78, entered into eternal rest September 5, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN. He was born December 24, 1939 to Emil and Nona (Moody) Hubert and was raised in Lamberton, MN. Dennis graduated from Lamberton High School in 1957.

He moved to Minneapolis to attend college and moved back to the family farm after his father’s death. He enlisted in the Navy in 1962 and served until 1968. Then he attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stout in December 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Dennis married Loretta Kolar on November 30, 1968 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Walnut Grove. He and Loretta adopted their two sons, Matthew and Nathan. Dennis was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years.

He was also proud of his 29-year sobriety and membership in Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge. Dennis was a sports enthusiast.

He bowled, played golf, liked playing pinochle, and loved the Gophers, Vikings, Wild, and Twins. He enjoyed reading newspapers every day from the front page to the last page. Dennis is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Loretta; sons Matthew and Nathan (Megan Broberg); sisters Marjorie Nickel, Janice Gertner, and Carol Werner; and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lawrence, Willard, Dale, and Fredrick; and one sister, Norma Seifert. Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Church of St. Stephen, 525 Jackson St., Anoka on Friday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass with a luncheon to follow. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
