Obituary for Dennis Wayne Parton Jr Dennis Wayne Parton, Jr., 48, of Knoxville/Seymour, went to be with our Lord on July 3, 2018. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and a great friend to many. Dennis had a great zest for life and loved boating, fishing, camping, and riding his Harley.

He was known for his generosity and his great sense of humor. He is a 1988 graduate of Seymour High School, the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and the University of Tennessee-Martin where he received a Masters degree in Business. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked for Oak Ridge National Laboratory for 18 years.

He will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Arley and Stella Parton, maternal grandparents William and Mary Ethel Masterson, father/mother-in-law Allen and Barbara Hamlett, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. He leaves behind his wife Kathy Parton, son Austin Parton (LCpl USMC) and wife Callie (LCpl USMC) of Hawaii, Allison Parton of Maryville, parents Dennis and Sandy Parton of Seymour, sister Robin Derrick and husband Tracy of Knoxville, sister Jamie King and husband Jerry and nephew Ryan of Wears Valley, sister-in-law Barbara Ann Hamlett of Claxton, and many close aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 10th, at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5-7pm with a service following. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 11th, at 2pm, in the veterans section.
