Obituary of Dennis Spivey On February 17, 2019 at 4:00 p.m., Dennis Charles Spivey, was given his angel wings. He now watches over his devoted wife of 45 years, Vivian Spivey. Dennis Charles Spivey born February 15, 1947 in Walnut Grove, Mississippi to Queen Esther Bates Spivey and Leach D. Spivey Sr. (Both parents preceded him in death) Dennis, also known as “sonny,” at an early age enjoyed racing cars and motorcycles to gratify his need for speed.

He enjoyed competitive hobbies including bowling, billiards, fishing, playing the keyboards, grilling, and home improvement projects. His later hobbies included his love of his 91 Corvette and attending car shows. Dennis never met a stranger.

He devoted his time to being a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Dennis always a hard worker, confident, and strong willed prided himself on doing whatever it takes to get things done. He defied odds many times.

His strength and will blessed us with 72 years of life. Dennis retired from Kroger as a refrigeration technician after 23 years of service. Dennis Charles Spivey found Christ at an early age.

His beliefs and faith in God comfort us that he now rests in a better place. He leaves to cherish his legacy his wife Vivian Spivey and their daughters Quesley Spivey and Dianca Spivey. Grandchildren Shanin Walker, Shane Walker, Jelani Walker.

Daughters Moneet Spivey, Tanya Spivey, Hope Spivey. Sons Stacey Spivey, Phillip Moore. Survived by siblings: Leach Spivey, Marc Spivey, Rose Tarter.

Preceded in death by siblings: Buelah Hunt, Michael Spivey. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family. God saw you getting tired, And a cure was not to be.

So He put His arms around you and whispered “Come to Me”. With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay.

Your golden heart stopped beating, Your hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. -Author Unknown Don’t think of him as gone away his journey’s just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched… for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.
