OBITUARY Derrill Gene Richardson Sr. June 23, 1937 – October 1, 2018 Derrill Gene Richardson, Sr., 81, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday (October 1, 2018) surrounded by his loving family. Derrill was born on June 23, 1937 in Kingsport, TN to the late Carol Otis & Estileen (Smith) Richardson. Derrill married the love of his love on February 23, 1957, and after 61 years of a beautiful marriage and raising a family together, she survives.

Derrill retired from Eastman Chemical Company after 45 years of dedicated service. He attended The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness where he served faithfully as an Elder. Derrill loved to travel, work crossword puzzles, and spend time with his family and friends.

Derrill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Derrill was preceded in death by his infant grandson, Cody Chase Richardson; and three brothers, Nelson, Arlen, and Carl Richardson. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Mary Lou Richardson; son Derrill Gene Richardson, Jr.; two daughters, Tracey Strickland and Tina Richardson; granddaughter, Victoria Richardson; sister, Barbara Morris; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Committal services will be held on Friday (October 5, 2018) at 3 p.m. in the Garden of the Good Shepherd at East Lawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made to the Richardson family at www. eastlawnkingsport.com.
