Obituary for Dewey Galena McMahon (Moore) Dewey Galena Moore McMahon GOLDEN – Funeral services for Dewey Galena Moore McMahon, 84, of Golden, are scheduled for 2 PM Monday, January 14, 2019, at the chapel, with Bro. Mack Swain officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba. Burial will be in Golden Cemetery, Golden.

Mrs. McMahon passed away Friday, January 11, 2019, in Tyler. She was born November 23, 1934, in Dallas, to the late Addison Dewey and Roxie Mahalah Gayler Moore. Galena married Elmo Carlton McMahon on November 29, 1952, in Rockwall.

She went to school in Wylie, married and moved to Heath, moved to Dallas, and then moved to East Texas. She was a member of Golden Baptist Church and the Wood County Home Extension Club. Galena loved to work with her hands (crocheting, needlework, sewing, quilting, painting, and shelling peas and pecans).

She loved to make peanut brittle and play Farkle. Survivors include her sons, Danny McMahon and Jimmie of Winnsboro, Teddy McMahon of Lake Fork, and Sammy McMahon and wife Christine of Yuma, Arizona; daughters, Ellen McMahon of Grand Saline and Tammy Wood and husband Greg of Edom; brother, Lonnie Paul Moore and wife Fran of Powderly; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Galena was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Ima Joy Skinner, Edith Foy Nixon, June Fern Vaughn, and Roxie Mae Martin; and brother, Addison Dale Moore.

Pallbearers will be Brandon McMahon, Phillip McMahon, Adam McMahon, Chad Swain, Cody Swain, and Clint Robertson. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019, at the funeral home.
