Diana “Dina” Bednarczyk, 74, of Old Bridge, passed away on May 2, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Dina was born on July 21, 1944 to Giambattista and Maria Del Re in Brooklyn, NY. She moved to Old Bridge, NJ where she lived with her husband of 53 years, Ludwik “George” for much of her life.

Dina dedicated her life to caring for her family and friends, but also managed to maintain a full-time job at Rutgers University for many years. She loved the beach and enjoyed summers in Sea Isle City, NJ. She and George also maintained a second home in Ft.

Myers, Florida for many years. Dina also loved to read, garden, and travel. She left this life the way she lived it: strong, fighting, loving, dedicated, funny, and giving.

She was generous in many ways, especially with her culinary gifts. She has fed just about everyone who ever crossed her path. Dina is survived by and will be missed immensely by her loving spouse, George; her daughter, Debra and her husband, James; her son, Joseph, her son, Peter and his wife Jennifer; her two sisters Florence (Vito) and Mary (Joseph); her brother, Vito (Carole), her four grandchildren, Jake, Jillian, Sarah, and Julia; and many treasured nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Giambattista Del Re; her mother Maria Del Re; and her brother Nicholas. Dina was also a volunteer with the Challah Fund, a non-profit organization, delivering the gift of Challah to cancer patients at St. Peter’s and Robert Wood Johnson Hospitals.
