Diane J. Doherty, 77 of Pittsburgh passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in St. Barnabas Health Center in Gibsonia. She was born on October 13, 1940 in Vineland, New Jersey to Victor “Skeeter” Tulio and Anna Walascuk Passetti who preceded her in death. On August 10, 1963 she married John L. “Jack” Doherty who passed away on February 16, 2013.

She was a graduate of Vineland High School and Glassboro State College. Mrs. Doherty was a teacher and was in government service for many years. She was a receptionist for Tarquin Real Estate and M & M Publications until her retirement.

A civic minded individual, Mrs. Doherty served for many years with the Civic Light Opera and the 21 Club of Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. She is survived by her son John F. Doherty (Patricia E.), her daughter Kathleen A. Hardy (W. Scott), her grandchildren Jonathan G. Krissa A. and Patrick J. “PJ” Doherty, and Elizabeth A. and Kaitlyn S. Hardy, a sister Vicki Ann Sturges (Guy P.), a brother Stephen V. Passetti (Linda C.) and beloved aunt to six nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in The Church of the Epiphany, 184 Washington Place, Pittsburgh on Friday, April 27, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Please, no flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions made in the name of Diane J. Doherty to the Duquesne University College of Liberal Arts (Attn: James Miller), 600 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15282 or The Church of the Epiphany, 184 Washington Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
