Dode died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Oak Park Place in Albert Lea. Dolores “Dode” Carmel Borland was born on December 7, 1926 in Ashland, Wisconsin, the daughter of Carl and Alma (Olson) Larson. She grew up in Ashland, graduating from Ashland High School.

During high school, she was a journalist for the Ashland newspaper. Dode went on to attend beauty school in Minneapolis. On December 11, 1947, she was united in marriage to T. Dean Borland in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

In 1968 the couple moved to Rochester and then returned to Albert Lea in 2004. She enjoyed reading, playing golf, dancing, and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Dode is survived by her children, Dale Borland, Marsha (Borland) Kranebell, LoJean Borland, and Scott Borland; grandchild, Chad (Nikki) Kranebell; great-grandchildren, Jackson Kranebell and Audrey Kranebell.
