Visitation Sunday 3:00pm until 9:00pm. Dolores passed away peacefully in her home where she lived with the love of her life, Andrew, who preceded her in death. They were married for 56 years!
In her warm and welcoming home, she raised 4 children, cared for grandchildren, and tended to several beloved dogs and cats. In 1940s, she participated in the war effort by working for the Simpson Optical Manufacturing Company where she won the Army-Navy Production Award for Excellence in War Production. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross.
After the war, she worked for Bell Telephone as a Switchboard Supervisor. After starting a family, Dolores was a stay-at-home mom. Later, she worked at State Farm Insurance.
Dolores genuinely cared for everyone around her and had a true gift for listening. Family and friends often sought out her wise counsel and encouraging words. Dolores was a very positive individual-the kind person who always saw the glass half full.
And occasionally, her glass would be half full with white zinfandel, her favorite wine! Dolores was a people person and never missed a chance to talk to her neighbors or meet someone new. She also enjoyed people watching when she was out and about!
She was a talented dressmaker who would sew clothing for friends and family. She made all her children’s dresses when they were little. Dolores’ yard was her respite where she spent hours planting and trimming.
She loved bird watching and always kept a well-stocked bird feeder and bird bath. Her favorite bird was the cardinal, and we will think of her when we see one. She was a women of faith who relied on prayer and perseverance to get her through the challenging times.
She was a devoted Catholic and sent her children to Catholic grammar and high schools. Dolores loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. We are bless to have had her inspiration for 94 years!
She is greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Dolores M. Nazimek please visit our Sympathy Store. Upcoming Events Visitation , DEC 16.
