Don Lewis Arbon passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018. Don was born Aug.

25, 1938, in Tooele, Utah, to G. Lewis and Beatrice Arbon. He grew up in Grantsville where he enjoyed farming, horseback riding, and many long-lasting friendships. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was skilled at archery and trap shooting.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a Sea Bee where he learned to weld and carried on with that trade throughout his life. He was known as the best welder in the state of Utah and was very proud of his craft. Don was a perfectionist in everything he did as it took him many months to prepare for anything he created.

His mantra was “Why pay someone for that when I can do it myself? ” He was active in the LDS church and was a man of great faith. He is preceded in death by step-father, Joe Stumph; mother, Beatrice Stump; father, George Lewis Arbon; brother, Wayne Arbon; and son David Arbon.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Arbon; daughters, Lisa (Ray) Stewart, Pamela Chitty, and Elizabeth Arellano; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff at the Mountain West Medical Center ICU unit for their kindness and care during his stay there. A viewing will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Tate Mortuary.

An additional viewing will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. followed by funeral services at Tate Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Tooele City Cemetery. There will be a luncheon after the funeral at the LDS Chapel, 1025 W. Utah Avenue.
