Donald Armes, age 85, formerly of Carnegie, God called him home, on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Son of the late Merle and Lillian (Taylor) Armes. Donald was the father of three children; Donald Armes, Jr., Sylvester Armes and Beverly Armes.

He has a surviving sister; Dorothy Armes and a deceased sister; Martha Armes. He is also survived by his cousin, Joanne Armes; adopted nieces and nephews; Joanne Baskin-Hobdy, Josh Hobdy, Molly Green, Boo Green, Clarice and Lacy Woodruff and William and Debra Green,and a host of adopted great nieces and nephews. In 1969, Donald had a loving relationship with the late Bertha Crump and her children; Mary, David, Sugar, Robin and Nita Crumps and the late Maxine Fogs.

He also leaves to mourn his dog, Blue. Donald attended Miller High School in Detroit. After High School, He went to serve in the US Army and fought during the Korean conflict in 1952 to 1954.

After the service, he worked for the Ford Company in Detroit, in the maintenance department. in 1969 he came back to Carnegie and he worked for Goolsby’s waste management company for several years. He served the Lord as a Deacon in his Christian life and at the present time, he was attending the Praise Center Full Gospel Ministries in Moon Township.

Honored gathering with family and friends will begin at 11:30 am on Thursday, May 24th at the Leo J. Henney funeral Home, 323 Second Avenue Carnegie. A Funeral Service be held immediatly following at 12:30 pm. Interment with military honors will follow the service in the funeral home at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
